Did you know the Internet can connect you to money, time, and information? Want to use the Internet, but not sure how? Here we have some examples of available options.
Step 1: World Wide Web
The Web is your information super highway! On the web, you can visit websites to access information, watch videos, listen to music, communicate with others, keep up with the news, and much more.
Step 2: Web Browser
A browser allows you to view webpages that may contain text, images, and videos. There are different web browsers that you can use, such as: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari. Internet Explorer is the common web browser that is pre-loaded to new computers. Using a specific web browser is all based on personal preference.
Step 3: Aspects of Web Browser
When you open a web browser you will see at the top of the page: a menu bar, a navigation bar, and an address bar. The menu bar allows you to change the settings of your web browser. The navigation bar allows you to navigate between websites. The address bar is where you type in the web address for the specific web page you want to visit.
Step 4: Explore a Web Page
URL is a website’s web address. The URL is shown in the address bar of your web browser. For example: www.club-digital.com is the URL for Club Digital! Now type in a web address (URL) into the address bar, then click go or press enter to explore! For example: type www.club-digital.com in the address bar to visit Club Digital!

Using an Online Translator
The Internet has a universe of information to offer you, but it’s also common that the useful material may not be in your language of choice. In other cases, the only thing that may be needed is translating certain text into another language to understand it better. Below are some examples of online translators, and all the great things they can do for you.
Step 1: Define the Type of Translation
Do you want translate text to send it in an email, or to use in a document, or to know how to translate a phrase or word? Do you want to know what that webpage says, that is written in a different language than the one you speak? Your answer will determine the type of online translator that you should use. Visit es.wikipedia.org/wiki/traduccion to read about the concept and phenomenon of online translations between languages.
Step 2: Translate Text
If you want to translate text visit Google Translator (translate.google.com). Write the text you wish to get translated in the box to the left, your translated text will appear on the right. You may choose the language of the text you typed in and the language you want it to be translated into from the respective drop down menus. Bing also offers a similar service (www.microsofttranslator.com).
Step 3: Translate a Webpage
If you would like to translate a webpage, you can use Yahoo! Babel Fish (babelfish.yahoo.com). In the ‘Translate a webpage’ box type in the webpage address you wish to translate and indicate what language the page is in and what language you want it to be translated into from the ‘Select from and to languages’ menu. Then click on ‘Translate’. A similar service is offered at www.google.com/language_tools.
Step 4: Learn Pronunciation
Visit webtranslation.paralink.com and type in the phrase you wish to translate in the space provided. Choose the language you are typing in and the language you want it to be translated into and then click ‘Translate’. If you click on the speaker icon, the system will ‘say’ the phrase you questioned and you will be able to listen to the phrase you wanted to learn how to pronounce. Google Translator offers a similar service.
Step 5: Use Professional Translators
If what you need is a high quality translation, free services may not be the most adequate. Over the Internet you can find many professional translating services, but they are not free and the cost can vary depending on the material needed to be translated. Two options are Worldlingo (www.worldlingo.com) and Translia (www.translia.com).
