What People Are Doing

Club Digital is coming to life in communities near you. In libraries, churches, employment and social service organizations, and senior centers and computer labs throughout California, Club Digital is being offered as a beneficial Internet training resource.  This comprehensive digital literacy program is being recognized as a valuable asset to these organizations and their communities. Below are just some of the examples of how Club Digital is being brought to life by our partners.

Colusa County Library
Colusa, CA
Colusa County Library will promote Club Digital to the general public at each of its 7 branch locations within Colusa County, all which have Internet and WiFi access. Through their “Library on the Move” program, Club Digital will also be offered in the Colusa County Library mobile library computer lab, which also offers personalized assistance and training for ESL, job assistance and basic computer use.

Catholic Charities of Fresno
Fresno, CA
Catholic Charities of Fresno is a non-profit organization that provides social services to low-income communities. Earlier this year, Catholic Charities of Fresno opened its Computer Training Center with the help of CETF.  Catholic Charities of Fresno will use the Club Digital website in all their computer training classes, along with distributing reprints of the Club Digital printed lessons.

Hayward Public Library
Hayward, CA
During the month of August, the Hayward Public Library’s Literacy Plus Program will host a Basic Computer & Internet class for the participants of their ESL & Spanish Literacy Program. In the Library’s classes, every student will create an e-mail address and be introduced to Club Digital. The class curriculum will be based around Club Digital lessons, supplemented with instructor-led lesson plans, and include the distribution of weekly Spanish-language lesson recaps.

Southeast Community Development Corporation
Huntington Park, CA
Southeast Community Development Corporation will incorporate Club Digital’s Internet training lessons into their Mobile Technology Center, a state-of-the-art self-contained mobile classroom with 15 on-board laptops. SCDC provides basic computer literacy training for low-income youth and adults in areas including Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Walnut Park/ Florence, Firestone, Huntington Park, Maywood, South Gate, and Vernon.

Southern Missionary Baptist Church
Los Angeles, CA
In September, Club Digital will be a part of the launch of Southern Missionary Baptist Church’s Youth Ministry Literacy Program. This program will host weekly classes that foster skill development and digital literacy. Southern Missionary Baptist Church serves the Southern Central Los Angeles, Baldwin Hills, Culver City, and Fairfax neighborhoods.

Chrysalis
Pacoima, CA
Club Digital is being used in Chrysalis’ Pacoima location, which serves English and Spanish clients.  Chrysalis staff directs clients to Club Digital, which is bookmarked on computers within its computer lab computers. Club Digital has become so popular at Chrysalis it had to provide headsets for clients to watch Club Digital videos.

Santa Ana Public Library
Santa Ana, CA
Club Digital will be promoted within the City of Santa Ana by the Santa Ana Public Library within its 2 branch locations. The Library will advertise Club Digital on its web site. Club Digital will be highlighted within the Libraries many programs and at satellite locations including Recreation Centers. The Santa Ana Public Library will offer 200 free copies of the Spanish-language lesson recaps per week to its library-goers.
